Construction on Micron's semiconductor fabrication plants in Clay would be delayed by years under a revised building timeline released Friday in the project's approved Final Environmental Impact Statement.
While Micron would still prepare for tree clearing beginning this year , construction of its four fabs would potentially be pushed back from dates in its Draft Environmental Impact Statement to meet utility needs of the project, the company said.
The building of fabs 1 and 2 would would take later and over a longer period of time. Construction on fab 1 would start in the second quarter of 2028 and begin operating as late as the third quarter of 2030 – a two-year delay – while fab 2 would go up two years later starting in the last quarter of 2030 and not open until the last quarter of 2
