A Bellmead woman has been indicted by a McLennan County grand jury for abuse of a corpse after her father was found dead in their home in October.

According to court documents, Crystal Renee Martin was indicted on a charge of abuse of corpse without legal authority on Friday, Nov. 7.

The Bellmead Police Department said officers were called to a home on E. Harris Street on the afternoon of Oct. 24. When officers arrived, they reportedly found a man's dead body lying on the floor with "visible and serious wounds."

The man's daughter, identified as Martin, was inside the home when police arrived, according to the department.
