COCHISE COUNTY, Ariz — A man has been arrested in connection with a 41-year-old murder in Cochise County.

Gregory Hamann, 60, was arrested after advancements in forensic technology connected him to the case, according to the Cochise County Sheriff's Office.

In 1984, Joseph Montgomery was living above a popular beauty salon called Hair Port when he was killed in his apartment. Investigators say Montgomery was the victim of a robbery murder.

Hamann faces one count of first-degree murder. Hamann is in custody on an $800,000 bond and has preliminary hearings scheduled for early next week.
