SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Rental assistance has been announced for the City of Sioux City.

Sioux City has announced it has received $104,000 from the Iowa Homelessness Prevention Fund, provided by the Iowa Finance Authority.

Sioux City leaders say this funding will help with short-term rental assistance to help stabilize those who face losing their homes.

“Due to limited funding and anticipated high demand, only fully completed applications will be accepted and placed on the waiting list for assistance,” said officials in a press release.

Those who are eligible for assistance may receive up to two months of back rent and one month of future rent, or one month of back rent and up to two months of future rent, according to a press release by the city of Sioux City.
