BOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) - Students at Boyd County Middle School honored service men and women at an annual ceremony Friday morning.
Veterans received quilts made by students as a token of gratitude.
Allie Jackson is one of the students involved in the quilt making and presentation.
“It took us from about February to November to finish the quilts, but we only got like one class period a week to work on them,” Jackson said.
A number of the quilts were presented by students related to the veterans.
Students and staff shared heartfelt remarks and were led in prayer by staff sergeant and teacher at Summit Elementary School, Joey Ellis.
