The Phoenix Holocaust Association and the Arizona Jewish Historical Society will co-host a free Holocaust education community program in Scottsdale.
Titled Echoes from the Night of Broken Glass, the event will take place from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at Temple Kol Ami on Nov. 9, according to a press release. The event will focus on the memory and legacy of the Kristallnacht, a pogrom carried out in Nazi Germany against Jews on Nov. 9-10, 1938 that resulted in over 91 deaths and large amounts of property damage.
The event will feature personal stories and accounts of Kristallnacht from survivors and descendants of survivors. Sheryl Ochayon, project director for Yad Vashem’s Echoes * Reflections, will also discuss the historical and contemporary significance of the Kirstallnacht and how it echoes in
