INDIANAPOLIS — The average date of first snow for Indianapolis is November 24th. The earliest first flakes fell on October 9, 1825, and our earliest first accumulation came on October 18, 1989. We received .2" of snow. Our first snow last year came when 3.2" of snow accumulated on November 20th. So, why am I talking about snow when just two days ago, central Indiana was baking in 70° warmth under sunny skies? Because we're going to go from fall to winter this weekend as the weather pattern turns more active.
