WASHINGTON — A day after a federal judge ordered the Trump administration to fully fund food stamps through November, the USDA confirmed benefits will soon be available while a court appeal plays out.
According to a memo obtained by Politico and NBC News , the USDA said they would "complete the processes necessary" Friday to ensure Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program are available.
The SNAP funds for November may be available as soon as Friday, complying with U.S. District Judge John J. McConnell Jr.'s Thursday ruling. Funds often takes a week or more to be loaded onto debit cards once states initiate the process. It's not clear when exactly funds will be available to recipients.
