Air travelers have been experiencing an increasing number of delays at airports across the country, including New York, as the government shutdown drags on.

One man said he was supposed to leave at 11:55 a.m. but didn’t leave until 4:15 p.m.

“I got to the airport at 8:30 [a.m.] on the 31st and I got to Myrtle Beach at 8:00 [p.m.],” Betty Adams said of her trip from LaGuardia Airport.
