WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - The Kansas Secretary of Corrections highlighted drugs and cell phones as a major challenge in the state’s annual prison report, calling the problem worse than ever before.
Corrections Secretary Jeff Zmuda said drugs and unauthorized cellphones getting into facilities are challenging correctional agencies in Kansas and nationwide like never before. He said most of the violence at the facilities can be tied back to contraband getting into the prison.
