BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — A Barren County teacher has changed the life of one of his students forever by giving him hand — literally.
Scott Johnson’s classroom is filled with neat crafts that he and his students have made.
Johnson, the science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics lab teacher at Red Cross Elementary , said, “They create gifts for their teachers; they create gifts for their friends.”
For the past year, Johnson had been researching and talking with engineers around the world to us a 3D printer to create a prosthetic for a student.
Johnson said, “Researching, designing, reaching out, just getting as much information as I could.”
Johnson’s research helped him design and build a new prosthetic hand. It was just something he felt he could do to help a young man.
