State lawmakers will get a second chance to tackle what some see as a housing crisis.

On Friday, Governor Lamont announced after vetoing a housing bill five months ago he supports an updated one.

“We’re not walking away. We all agreed when you talk about affordability, you talk about opportunity it really starts with housing,” Lamont said.

Supporters had to overcome several concerns with the previous bill which had faced opposition including about state overreach, parking rules and others.

Housing advocates believe the state needs to build tens of thousands of units to help meet demand and have been pushing for state action.
