INDIANAPOLIS — A teenage girl was seriously injured after being struck by an SUV on Thursday night.
Indianapolis metro police said the incident occurred at approximately 6:45 p.m. on Thursday near E. Stop 11 Road and Siear Terrace on the city's south side. The girl was found lying in the roadway by officers arriving on scene and rushed to a hospital in serious condition.
Police said the driver of the SUV stayed on scene and is cooperating with the investigation. The driver was traveling eastbound when they struck the teenager crossing Stop 11 Road.
Impairment is not believed to be a factor in the incident, police said.
