EAST WILLIAMSBURG — THE BANKRUPT OUTDOOR venue Brooklyn Mirage is preparing to rebrand under a new name as part of a broad restructuring by its parent company, Avant Gardner LLC, which filed for Chapter 11 in August.
Stereogum reports Avant Gardner has applied for permits to demolish roughly 32,000 square feet of the site while redesigning it to meet fire and occupancy codes. The planned overhaul follows canceled 2025 shows and years of safety violations that derailed its reopening.
Employees were recently invited to propose new venue names as part of the relaunch effort. An unnamed Avant Gardner employee told BKMAG they were confused by the invitation to create a new name, while being kept in the dark about what’s happening with the bankrupt company.
