VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — An annual fundraiser, taking place for over 100 years, is back once again.
The Red Kettle Campaign is put on every year by the Salvation Army to fund the organization and its efforts in the community.
The Salvation Army will have volunteers outside of crowded businesses, ringing the red bell to attract donations.
The Vigo County Salvation Army is beginning its campaign on Friday with donation locations at Hobby Lobby and the West Vigo IGA. By the Friday after Thanksgiving, there will be 11 total sites to donate.
Major Timothy Parker, of the Vigo County Salvation Army, said your donations will help those in need through 2026.
"We will be helping people with rent payments, with mortgage payments, and helping people with their utility bills", Parker said.
