“I feel you keep track of everything, but at the same time you don’t want to think about it,” Jets winger Vlad Namestnikov told reporters prior to Friday night’s matchup with the San Jose Sharks. “It kind of crept up on me that 800 games (played) is coming up.”
Indeed, as Namestnikov reached the 800-game plateau when the Jets played the Sharks in San Jose on Friday night.
Namestnikov was drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the seventh round of the 2011 entry draft. The 32-year-old has suited up for seven teams. The longest stayover was in Tampa for portions of seven seasons. He has played in 189 games over four seasons with the Jets. Namestnikov has 30 goals and 62 assists in his Jets
