CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) - U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem was in Charleston on Friday and spoke to Citadel cadets about what it takes to serve at the federal level, and how they could play a role in protecting the nation.
"All of you in this room have chosen to do something that's more difficult than the average person in your generation, and I applaud you for doing that," said Noem.
Inside Jenkins Hall at The Citadel, U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem spent the afternoon laying out what she calls a "critical need" for young leaders, as well as making the case for why some of them could come from right here in Charleston.
"All of you in this room are here at this university in this training, because you want to live a life that matters, that serves you," Noem
