LINCOLN, Neb. —

Day one of the state volleyball tournament is in the books.

It was the quarterfinals in Class A, B, and C-1 at the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln.

In Class A, Elkhorn South took on Millard South, and the Patriots swept, earning the team's first win at state in 41 years.

Westside battled Marian and came out on top in four sets.

Papio South defended its Class A state title against Lincoln Southwest, and after winning sets two, three, and four, the Titans are going to the semifinals.

Then in Class B, Elkhorn North swept Bennington.

In Class C-1, it was Concordia and Ashland-Greenwood, and the Mustangs were able to get it in four sets.
