Snow flurries are in the forecast for some parts of Massachusetts next week.
After a weekend of off-and-on rain showers, National Weather Service forecasters predict snow showers could hit the state early next week.
The “coldest air of the season so far” is expected to move into the state on Tuesday, dropping temperatures to the upper 30s in northern parts of the state and 40s elsewhere.
High wind gusts up to 40 mph are expected, making conditions feel even chillier in the upper 20s, forecasters warn.
And with it all may come snow. A few lake-effect showers may survive over the Berkshires, which could bring sprinkles of rain and flurries of snow.
Similar happenings will be on the coastline from ocean-effect showers on Tuesday and a potential dusting of snow on Cape Cod and the Islands
