FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Huntington University’s performing arts department has three more semesters left until it’s phased out completely.

Huntington University senior Elizabeth Kruse majors in Education and minors in Production Technology, and she said being a part of the performing arts program is one of the highlights of her college career.

“I remember I was here for one semester and my first big musical, and we were all sitting on stage after the show in a circle, and we do a thankfulness circle after the show, and so we talk about what we’re most thankful for, and I remember sitting there thinking, ‘This is home,’” she said.

Despite being a senior, Kruse said, when she found out the news about the cuts, she began to worry about the program she dearly loves.
