CLEVELAND, Ohio - Authorities say a 33-year-old Cleveland man was killed Wednesday in a home invasion in Maple Heights.

Pedro Nettles was identified as the victim fatally shot in the home invasion, according to a report from the office of the Cuyahoga County medical examiner. The office released Nettles’ identity on Thursday.

The incident happened at a home in the 21400 block of Libby Road.

Police responded to the residence about 9:45 p.m. after receiving a report that a woman had been shot in the hand. Officers found both Nettles and the woman at the scene with gunshot wounds, authorities said.

Paramedics took the woman to MetroHealth Medical Center and Nettles to South Pointe Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
