PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - A Peoria man is behind bars facing several charges, including home invasion.

According to Peoria Police, 39-year-old Donald Criss was arrested after a disturbance on Wayne Street at about 3 a.m. Friday.

Once on scene, officers spoke to a woman who was staying the night at the victim’s house, when her boyfriend forced his way inside. She said she was able to escape after the altercation, and reported that a man, later identified as Criss, had gotten into an argument with her friend.

The victim later told police she went inside her home. That’s when Criss allegedly forced his way into the home, hitting her in the head with a handgun. Criss was found by police inside that home and was arrested.
