Coloradans whose federal food benefits have been on hold this month could soon receive them, according to federal and state officials.

Just before 4 p.m. Nov. 7, the state of Colorado announced it would submit a request for the state's Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) participants to receive their full November payments, according to a news release from the Colorado Department of Human Services.

The state's announcement came in light of news that the U.S. Department of Agriculture is working to comply with a court order to provide SNAP benefits after they were paused amid the ongoing government shutdown. That development was reported by USA Today.
