ROCHESTER, Minn.- The City of Rochester announced on Thursday, Nov. 6, that would be joining a new initiative with the Mayor's Innovation Project , Mayor Kim Norton says she hopes it can make the city more accessible for small businesses.
Shawn Fagan, executive director of the Rochester Downtown Alliance says he's interested to see what the city conclusions the city might find by working alongside 6 other cities across the country.
"I'm not exactly sure it will be interesting to see what we can improve upon," Fagan said.
The Mayor says she will be consulting with organizations like RDA and Rochester Area Economic Development Incorporated alongside experts on regulations and policy about what the city can do to make it easier and cheaper to create a business and maintain it.
