HUDSON, Fla. (WFLA) — CartMax in Hudson has abruptly shut its doors, leaving numerous customers in a lurch without their golf carts that were supposed to be repaired or their deposits.

John Baird said the owner of the nearby CartMax stopped by his house and offered to haul away his cart for repairs. He said he then referred many of his neighbors.

Baird said after a year and many excuses, carts weren't returned. Now, the business has abruptly shut down, and their golf carts are gone.

"After losing everything you own and the guy runs off with your carts, it's not right," Baird said.

The owners are Chelsea and Dustin Vanskiver, and Baird said he went to their home to get answers but got nowhere.
