A bus ploughed into a low bridge this evening, ripping its roof off and sending debris flying across the road.
The terrifying incident occurred at around 7.45pm in Bolton when a Bee Network bus , operated by Go North West, collided with the bridge on Weston Street. Thankfully, it is understood there were no passengers onboard at the time, and the driver did not suffer serious injuries.
The rail bridge, which is located in the Burnden area, south of Bolton town centre, is 3.7m high and clearly marked 'low bridge'. According to Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM), the bus was being driven back to the depot at the time of the incident
