The online survey launched Friday and asks Albertans which highways should be prioritized for a speed limit increase from 110 km/h. This includes 270 kilometres of Highway 63 from the Highway 55 junction in Athabasca County to Fort McMurray’s urban limits, then continuing north of the city. Article content

Slower speed limits are not being considered for provincial highway segments running through urban areas such as cities, towns or First Nation lands.

“The speed is not set to what the road allowance is, and we’re ending up with people getting tickets, getting slowed down, and problems as a result of that,”
