BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) - Members of the West Virginia School Building Authority heard from superintendents about specific needs of schools across the state.
Over $170 million in funding requests were submitted by superintendents for repairs and upgrades. Many representatives requested funding for upgrades to dated equipment such as HVAC systems. Others made requests for assistance in ongoing transitions to newer facilities.
School Building Authority Executive Director, Andy Neptune said an increase in funding requests for career and technical schools could be indicative of the direction of state education going forward.
