PASCAGOULA, Miss. (WLOX) - Donations for this year’s United Way campaign have reached $1.5 million with less than 2 months to go.

Money raised will support about 15 agencies that help people in Jackson, George, and Greene Counties.

Thomas Walley lives in Pascagoula, and He’s here as living proof of how the organization can help forge a new path in life.

“They help me out a lot,” he said.

He shared his story of being homeless and an addict; now he’s clean with a roof over his head.

“You feel good, man, you feel real good… I feel better by being in a home like that," Walley said.
