VERNON PARISH, La. (KPLC) - A former Allen Parish Sheriff’s deputy is accused of unlawfully sending state crime information to a private citizen, who later posted it on social media.
Winston Lambright faces the following counts:
Unlawful dissemination of criminal history information
Trespass against state computers
Malfeasance in office
On Nov. 5, the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office contacted Louisiana State Police about unauthorized use of the Louisiana Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (LLETS), LSP said.
Investigators said Lambright collected and gave out LLETS information to a private citizen. That citizen then shared that information on a social media platform.
Lambright was arrested today and processed at the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office.
