MIAMI, Fla. – On Friday, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis commemorated “Victims of Communism Day” during a speech at the Miami Freedom Tower .
This year represents the third time that this holiday has been recognized since it was first implemented in 2022 .
As the law (HB 395) tells it, Victims of Communism Day is held on Nov. 7 and requires that public schools honor “the 100 million people who have fallen victim to communist regimes across the world” as a result of the failed economic model .
“We remember those who demonstrated courage, made sacrifices and endured hardship while fighting for freedom and against communism,” DeSantis noted. “We must ensure the students learn the lessons of history, recognize the destructiveness of Marxism-Leninism, and appreciate the founding principles
