OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - For Ed Erwin, this weekend is supposed to be the moment he’s waited decades for.

“I will be able to see the Vietnam Memorial for the first time. I’ve seen it by movies and on pictures, but I’ve never seen it up close and personal,” Erwin said.

He was set to fly out on an Honor Flight Friday morning, but then plans changed.

“My director for the honor flight called me last night to tell me that the flight had been canceled. Erwin said. “She had to rearrange our flights for me, my son and 14 other people.”

Erwin’s original flight connected to Chicago, but was then changed to Charlotte with a Friday afternoon departure. The departure time was pushed back twice, a frustrat
