TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - A Jacksonville police officer has been released from the hospital after she was shot twice, leading to a four-day man hunt.
A motorcade of police officers and EMS escorted the officer from a Tyler hospital back to Jacksonville late Friday afternoon.
The officer was first shot on Sunday after she spotted Bobby Michael Dennis, 64, while on patrol in the 1100 block of Churchill Street.
Dennis had outstanding warrants for obstruction and retaliation.
The officer approached Dennis, calling out to him as “Mr. Dennis” and asked him to come to her when he moved behind his residence. According to Chief Steven Markasky, the officer then saw Dennis holding an AR-15.
Markasky said the officer ran to use her patrol unit for cover when Dennis began firing at her. Several round
