Shopian : The weeklong celebrations of the Commemoration of 150 years of National Song,‘VandeMataram’ commenced across Shopian district Friday with the main event held at Mini Secretariat.

The opening day of the celebrations was enthusiastically participated by a diverse group of citizens, including officials, students, civil society and other citizens at the district function as well as in other educational institutions of the district.

The participants joined the online rendition of Vanda Matram through the national level program, reaffirming their commitment to national unity and pride. During the event, besides witnessing the national level and UT Level functions, patriotic songs and speeches were presented by school children, which added vibrancy to the celebrations at the district
