Local football star Maddy Collier has announced her retirement from the AFLW, ending a decade-long career.

Born and raised in Nowra, Collier discovered her love for football after watching her older brother play.
"It quickly became something I loved, and I never looked back," she said
Collier first pulled on a Sydney Swans guernsey in a women's exhibition game in 2016, before joining the GWS for the AFLW's inaugural season in 2017, becoming the first player from NSW and the ACT selected for the new competition.
