Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 8 (UNI) The Kerala Railway Police has registered 72 cases across the state as part of a special safety drive titled “Operation Rakshita”, launched to strengthen the security of train passengers, particularly women.

The joint initiative by the Kerala Railway Police and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) follows a recent incident in which a young woman was assaulted and pushed from a moving train, sustaining injuries.

The inspections are being carried out under the direct supervision of Railway Police Superintendent Shahanshah K S Over the past few days, extensive checks have been held inside trains and in station premises across Kerala.
