MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. (WNDU) - A man has been arrested and charged after another man was killed in a shooting this past August outside of a bar in Michigan City.

35-year-old Daquvay Sherrod has been charged with murder for his role in the death of 25-year-old Dante Sellers II of LaPorte.

The shooting happened in the early morning hours of Aug. 3 outside of Matey’s Bar on Franklin Street.

After a monthslong investigation, police say Sherrod was arrested by SWAT on Thursday at a home on Buffalo Street.

Sherrod’s arrest comes after another man was previously arrested and charged in the case. But according to online court records, that man’s murder charge was dismissed.
