Rewa celebrates ‘Vande Mataram’ anniversary

Rewa: Rewa joined the nation in celebrating the 150th anniversary of the National Song, ‘Vande Mataram,’ with a fervent ceremony at the Collectorate premises.

Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla, the chief guest, inaugurated the event and personally led the mass singing, rendering every stanza of ‘Vande Mataram’ in a melodious and deeply patriotic voice. His spirited rendition deeply moved the large crowd.

“Vande Mataram is not just a song; it is the symbol of our soul, culture, and national devotion,” stated the Deputy Chief Minister.

He emphasized that the song, composed by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee 150 years ago and featured in his novel Anandamath, became the battle cry of freedom fighters during the struggle against the British.
