West Coast’s seven-season wait to achieve their AFLW dream turned into a November nightmare in a stunning 10-minute onslaught from Carlton to end their season in the elimination final.

The Blues kicked four goals in 10 minutes to start the second half, and six for the term, to turn an eight-point lead at half-time into a match winning 45-point advantage.

Carlton’s class was clear as they won 9.6 (60) to 2.7 (19) in wet, windy and wintry conditions at Ikon Park.

The game got out of hand in the blink of an eye. Carlton had five consecutive soccers to get field position at the start of the third term and then Sophie McKay kicked the goal. She kicked another later in the term and set up one more while collecting eight possessions in a game breaking display.
