Cuttack : In a swift operation to ensure public health during the ongoing Bali Yatra 2025, the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) conducted surprise raids on food stalls at the fairground on Saturday morning.
Teams led by CMC Health Officer and Food Safety Officers inspected multiple stalls, seizing and destroying large quantities of stale and expired food items. Vendors found selling substandard food were immediately fined.
According to reports, the world-famous Bali Yatra, which began on Kartik Purnima, has drawn massive crowds daily, with thousands visiting the fair, shopping, and enjoying food from hundreds of stalls. However, reports of stale food being served prompted the CMC Food Safety Unit to swing into action. Raids were carried out across various stalls from early morning. S
