Bandipora, November 8: In a major step to strengthen public safety and communication security, Bandipora Police on Friday launched a district-wide inspection drive of SIM card vendors.

An official spokesperson said the special drive has been initiated to curb the misuse of SIM cards for criminal, fraudulent, or terror-related activities, and to ensure strict compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC) norms and telecom regulations.

Police teams from all Police Stations and Police Posts across Bandipora carried out thorough inspections of mobile SIM vendors operating within their respective jurisdictions.
