Tensions flared at Banaras railway station on Friday as BJP MLA Saurabh Srivastava and a Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel were seen in a brief scuffle, amid preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to his parliamentary constituency .

PM Modi visited Banaras to flag off four Vande Bharat Express trains from a station on the second day of his two-day Varanasi visit.

A video circulating widely on social media showed the legislator and the RPF personnel pushing each other. The clash reportedly erupted when Srivastava attempted to take party workers inside the railway station, while the RPF was enforcing restricted access during the high-security arrangements.
