In recent years, social media has seen a growing wave of foreign travellers and expats embracing India not just as a destination, but as a way of life. Joining this chorus of admiration is Russian entrepreneur Anastasia Sharova, whose recent post about “things she understood after living in India” has gone viral for its warmth, humour, and heartfelt observations on everyday Indian life.

Anastasia shared that even after more than 15 years of exploring India , the country continues to surprise and teach her. One of the first things she noticed was how India’s idea of an address is unlike anywhere else. “A house next to the school on the left corner behind the shop in front of a football ground” — to most, it might sound like a riddle, but in India, she says, “that’s an actual address.”
