Two militants were killed early Saturday morning in the Keran sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara during an encounter with security forces, the Army said. The exchange of fire took place when the infiltrators, attempting to cross into the valley, were intercepted by a joint team of troops, reported The Indian Express.
Officials said the operation, which began on Friday evening, was launched following intelligence inputs about an infiltration attempt.
