Police have charged two people in connection with a multi-month armed robbery spree in Connecticut.
Nine armed robberies have been reported in in Meriden between September and November, according to Lt. Darrin McKay of the Meriden Police Department .
McKay said five of the holdups involved a man armed with what appeared to be a firearm. Police believe they thwarted a theft when they arrested 41-year-old Corey Alexis on Oct. 16 as he was allegedly preparing to commit a robbery at a local convenience store. He was taken into custody following a multi-agency investigation and a surveillance operation, after which he was found with a BB gun, McKay said.
