MINOT — There is no dispute that Cory Pedersen stalked his former girlfriend, Heather Traynor.

Per court documents, on May 20, Pedersen, who works for the North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services, pleaded guilty to stalking Traynor, a former girlfriend who works for the North Dakota Court System's Court Improvement Program.

On Aug. 22, a jury found Pedersen guilty of violating a court-issued protection order that prohibited him from having contact with Traynor. He did so by going to the Capitol, where Traynor works.

Both of these convictions are Class A misdemeanors, but despite them, and despite what Traynor alleges in an affidavit filed with the court as a pattern of harassment from Pedersen, she says the DHHS has not complied with court orders aimed at protecting her.
