Iam writing in response to the news that the city of Akron will be raising our sewer rates by an additional 5.3% per year over the next four years. When all is said and done, a typical Akron household can expect to see its water bill rise by at least $22 per month ($264 per year).
I am no stranger to this issue, nor to the topics of fees, taxes and public policy. I served in Akron Mayor Dan Horrigan’s cabinet for over seven years. I have worked in public administration for nearly 30 years, and I have lived here in Akron more than five decades. I love this city and want to see it prosper and thrive.
