Positive views surfaced during a public meeting Thursday when the city of Toledo asked the community for feedback on a proposed design for a planned $2.5 million Ottawa River habitat development project.
“If it helps with the fish and good bugs and the bird population, and that’s what they aiming for, then I would say it’s a good thing,” said Laura Burchette, of Toledo’s Point Place neighborhood. “I’m hopeful that they’d be able to do all that, because I am a bird watcher.”
One of scores of people who visited the two-hour informational event at Friendship Park Community Center, Ms. Burchette spoke as she stepped away from an information station featuring a detailed layout of the proposed project design.
