AMHERST — No. 13/12 University of Massachusetts hockey used a pair of power-play goals to help the squad secure a split in its series with No. 6 Maine, blanking the Black Bears, 4-0 on Friday at the Mullins Center. With the win, the Minutemen improve to 7-4-0 on the season, 1-2-0 in Hockey East, while Maine falls to 6-3-1, 3-1-0 in league action.
