OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Saturday and Sunday are both First Alert 6 Weather Days for the first hard freeze and snow chances of the season as well as strong winds gusting over 40 mph at times.

Today is a First Alert 6 Weather Day due to the chance of snowflakes mainly north of I-80.

Rain showers have arrived in the metro while some areas north of I-80 are seeing a wintry mix. More chances of a wintry mix and wet snowflakes continue through the morning. Areas north of I-80 on the Iowa side have the best chance of seeing a light dusting of snow. The first batch will bring the bulk of any snow accumulation that is possible.

A brief break in the early afternoon along with a little clearing will allow temps to surge to the upper 40s for a high in the metro.
